Natural homemade toothpaste - yummy kids recipe

I recently made this recipe for toothpaste with my 5-year-old and have had tremendous results!  My teeth feel so unbelievably clean and have been getting whiter and brighter by the day.  This mixture kills bacteria, whitens, strengthens, and is non-toxic.

Bentonite Clay Powder
This naturally occurring volcanic ash, has a slight coarseness that helps to scrub and polish your teeth. More importantly, it gives your teeth and enamel the minerals needed to harden and whiten. Bentonite clay is like a sponge that absorbs all harmful bacteria and infection, replacing it with the minerals that you need for a healthy, vibrant smile.

Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt
Celtic Sea Salt is a powerful antibacterial that prevents tooth decay, while it kills bacteria and sterilizes your mouth. Salt is a crucial ingredient as it also keeps your gums healthy, combating gingivitis and other gum diseases.

Organic Cinnamon Sticks
Cinnamon adds a fantastic flavor to our toothpaste! It is another potent antibacterial that freshens breath and keeps cavities at bay. It is even good for digestion and perfect for using right after meals.

Organic Whole Cloves
Cloves are antiseptic as well as antimicrobial, and are often used to treat toothaches. This pain relieving herb combats strong breath and the underlying infections that cause it.

1 oz. Organic Stevia Herb
Stevia is a natural sweetener that will not leave your teeth coated like glycerin and sugar do. Instead, stevia gives our toothpaste the desired sweet flavor without becoming a potential plaque farm.

Bentonite Clay Toothpaste Recipe
3 Cups Water
1 Tablespoon Stevia Herb
1 1/2 Cups Cinnamon Sticks
4 Tablespoons Whole Cloves
4 Tablespoons Baking Soda
1 Tablespoons Celtic Sea Salt
1 - 1 1/2 Cups Bentonite Clay Powder

1. Mix the first four ingredients in a medium saucepan, and boil 30 minutes. While that’s heating, mix 4 tablespoons baking soda and 1 tablespoon Celtic Sea Salt and set aside.
2. Next place 1 cup of Bentonite Clay into a glass bowl. Note: it is important to use a glass bowl and wooden spoon because when the Bentonite Clay gets wet, it sets up an electromagnetic reaction which will absorb the particles inside of a metal bowl, or the toxins out of a plastic one.
3. Remove saucepan from heat and strain off herbs, catching the liquid in a glass bowl. Slowly add the salt and baking soda mixture. Expect it to foam and bubble. This is the cinnamon and the baking soda reacting to each other. While it is still frothing, pour the liquid mixture into the bowl of Bentonite Clay, and whisk briskly. The foam will start to settle down and a smooth paste should start to form. Continue adding the remains of Bentonite Clay until the desired consistency is reached. Store in glass jars and avoid any contact with absorbable metals.
